FRANK SERINGA

Frank Seringa was born in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1943. He grew up in a working-class family that taught him two things: work hard and never waste a day. He became a math teacher — not because it was easy, but because it mattered. He spent years in the classroom before transitioning into a career in technology, eventually rising to executive leadership in an industry that barely existed when he was born.

In 2008, Frank retired. That same year, he received a cancer diagnosis. Most people would have slowed down. Frank made three promises instead — to himself, to the people around him, and to the idea that retirement could mean something more than waiting. He has not had a single boring day since.

For eighteen years, Frank has lived in The Villages, Florida — one of the largest retirement communities in the world. He did not move there to disappear. He moved there to build. He has spent nearly two decades creating programs, leading communities, mentoring retirees, and developing the ideas that became this book.

Retirement Must Be Disrupted is Frank's first book. He wrote it at eighty-three. Not because he had time to fill, but because he had something to say — and because the book he needed in 2008 did not exist. Now it does.
